Technical Program Manager – Compute

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Technical Program Manager to lead compute‑focused programs that keep its AI training infrastructure running efficiently at scale. You will join a small, high‑impact TPM team and own workstreams across the compute lifecycle, from capacity procurement to allocation and utilization.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive critical programs across the compute lifecycle, coordinating execution across engineering, research, and operations teams.
• Build and maintain operational visibility into the compute fleet, tracking supply, demand, utilization, and health.
• Lead cross‑functional coordination for compute transitions, including onboarding new capacity, migrating workloads, and managing decommissions across cloud providers and hardware platforms.
• Partner with leadership to align on compute resource planning, allocation, and usage.
• Identify and close operational gaps through new tooling, improved processes, or better communication.
• Facilitate trade‑off discussions on utilization, cost, latency, and reliability, and communicate decisions to leadership.
• Develop and refine frameworks for planning, tracking, and executing compute programs at scale.

Required profile

• 7+ years of technical program management experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or compute‑intensive environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross‑functional programs with ambiguous requirements.
• Experience working with research or machine‑learning teams and translating their needs into operational plans.
• Comfort diving deep into technical details while maintaining program‑level visibility.
