Technical Program Manager, API Platform

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead scaling and efficiency initiatives for its API platform. You will act as the central coordinator linking API, infrastructure, database, networking, and inference teams, ensuring a cohesive roadmap and smooth delivery of high‑volume AI services.

Key responsibilities

• Drive scaling and core efficiency programs for the API stack from architectural direction through sequenced execution.
• Run multiple large‑scale programs simultaneously across infrastructure, networking, and the API layer.
• Own cross‑org dependencies end‑to‑end, connecting API, infrastructure, database, networking, and inference teams.
• Establish clear decision‑making ownership, trade‑off points, and program visibility.
• Surface risks, progress, and trade‑offs to engineering leadership with appropriate cadence.

Required profile

• 7+ years of technical program management experience delivering complex, cross‑functional programs.
• Proven ability to coordinate programs across many partner organizations and manage escalations.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple parallel workstreams across distributed teams.
• Comfortable thriving in unstructured environments and creating clarity where decision ownership is unclear.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with influence without authority.
• Passionate about Anthropic’s mission to build safe, beneficial AI.

Required skills

• Experience with API platforms and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of core infrastructure components such as compute, databases, networking, and inference.
• Track record of scaling, performance, or efficiency programs for high‑volume production systems.
