Supply Chain Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead material flow, procurement strategy and inventory performance for an aerospace manufacturing operation in New Orleans. The role ensures production schedules are met by coordinating supply availability, strengthening supplier partnerships and improving planning accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Direct supply chain activities from purchasing through inventory control to support manufacturing schedules and customer commitments.
• Develop material planning strategies to maintain appropriate stock levels for raw materials, work‑in‑process items and finished products.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, quality and program teams to align supply priorities with build plans.
• Source aerospace‑related materials, components and external services while managing purchasing activities.
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure favorable pricing, contract terms and delivery schedules.
• Manage supplier relationships by evaluating quality, cost and delivery performance.
• Review planning signals, forecasts and production requirements to identify potential shortages or supply risks.
• Analyze inventory health and implement actions to reduce excess, obsolete and slow‑moving stock.
• Measure and report key supply chain metrics such as inventory turns, on‑time delivery and cost performance.
• Drive process improvements across procurement and inventory management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably aerospace.
• Proven expertise in procurement, buying and inventory management within production‑driven environments.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations with material planning and supply execution.
• Working knowledge of regulated manufacturing standards and aerospace compliance (AS9100).
• Strong negotiation, analytical and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
