Supervisor – Access Services for Clinical Clinics

About the role

The Supervisor – Access Services oversees patient check‑in/check‑out, scheduling, registration, patient portals, e‑requests and EPIC work queues at The Orthopedic Spine Hospital (TOSH) and Neurosciences at Jack T Stephens (NUSL). The role ensures compliance with payer and regulatory requirements, conducts audits, and steps in for the manager when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of patient check‑in/check‑out, scheduling, registration, patient portals, e‑requests and EPIC work queues across TOSH and NUSL clinics.
• Act as manager during manager’s absence, provide staff education on scheduling templates, payer requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct regular audits of productivity, quality and compliance, report findings and develop corrective action plans.
• Oversee staff performance, conduct evaluations, facilitate training and handle progressive discipline when needed.

Required profile

• High School diploma/GED (minimum); 7 + years experience in registration, billing or scheduling in a healthcare setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare or related field preferred; 3 + years experience in similar role with supervisory responsibilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Experience using hospital scheduling and registration software, patient portals and online e‑request platforms.
• Ability to manage work queues and physician referral workflows.
