About the role
Airbus is seeking a Summer Intern for the A320 Family Liaison Engineering team in Mobile, AL. You will work on the Final Assembly Line, providing real‑time technical support for primary and secondary airframe structures, handling non‑conformities, and updating shop‑floor engineering data.
Key responsibilities
- Assist engineers in reviewing shop‑floor non‑conformities, concessions, and technical queries related to metallic and composite structures.
- Organize, update, and draft basic design datasets, rework instructions, and Design Query Notes under supervision.
- Participate in engineering innovation projects such as automation, data analytics, or digitalisation to reduce recurring defects.
- Attend shop‑floor briefings, record minutes, and support liaison activities between Manufacturing, Quality, and Design teams.
- Generate weekly status reports, compile technical data for future reference, and help create presentation materials.
Required profile
- Enrolled in an accredited 4‑year undergraduate or graduate program in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering (sophomore level or higher).
- Authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
- Basic understanding of airframe structural concepts, mechanical design principles and material properties.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software (CATIA preferred) and engineering drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
