Summer 2027 Quality Assurance Engineering Internship

About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is offering a 10‑12‑week Summer 2027 internship in its Quality Assurance department. Interns will work on‑site in Kinston, NC, gaining hands‑on experience with aircraft component manufacturing and learning from experienced quality engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the quality team with problem‑solving, lean manufacturing, continuous‑improvement, innovation and Six Sigma projects.
• Learn and apply root‑cause analysis and support improvement initiatives.
• Update visual‑management schemes, metrics and analysis tools.
• Document 5S scores, housekeeping audits and foreign‑object‑debris (FOD) levels.
• Support compliance activities and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in aerospace, engineering, industrial or manufacturing engineering (high school diploma or equivalent required).
• Willingness to temporarily reside in the Kinston, NC area for the internship.
• Prior Airbus internship experience and study in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering are highly preferred.
• Organized with strong time‑management skills and authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (G Suite).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and VBA (preferred).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
