Strategic Sourcing Manager – Mechanical

About the role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager – Mechanical will lead sourcing strategies for critical mechanical commodities such as airframe structures, precision‑machined components, landing‑gear systems and propulsion hardware, supporting prototype through production phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity strategies that meet aerospace and defense program requirements.
• Own supplier selection, qualification, onboarding and long‑term management for mission‑critical components.
• Lead competitive sourcing activities, including RFQs, proposal analysis, negotiations and contract execution.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Program Management to mitigate supply‑risk and support new product introduction.
• Perform detailed cost and price analysis using supplier cost breakdowns, historical data and should‑cost models.
• Manage supplier performance across delivery, quality, cost and capacity, driving recovery plans when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of progressive strategic sourcing or procurement experience in aerospace, defense or highly regulated manufacturing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Proven track record managing complex, flight‑critical suppliers and commodities.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
