Strategic Sourcing Business Partner, R&D Operations

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Business Partner to lead the commercial side of its R&D services portfolio, including Human Data Operations and other specialized vendors. The role will own contract management, negotiations, and vendor performance to unlock value for the research teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own commercial redlines for HDO and R&D service agreements (MSAs, SOWs, order forms, amendments, renewals) in partnership with Legal.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies, influencing deal structures and terms.
• Manage vendor performance post‑signing through quarterly business reviews, SLA enforcement, and issue escalation.
• Collaborate daily with Legal, Finance & Strategy, and Security/TPRM to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
• Drive adoption of AI‑enabled sourcing processes, leveraging Anthropic’s Claude to shape future deal‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing or procurement for technology or R&D services.
• Strong track record of negotiating complex contracts and delivering cost/value improvements.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with legal, finance, and security teams.
• Comfort with managing vendor relationships and performance metrics.
• Interest in AI‑driven sourcing and willingness to experiment with new tools.
