Staff+ Software Engineer, Enterprise

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Staff+ Software Engineer to lead the Enterprise pillar, making Claude ready for large‑scale deployment in Fortune 500 environments. The role combines deep technical leadership with cross‑functional collaboration to deliver secure, compliant, and highly available AI services to thousands of users.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive a multi‑year technical strategy, including distributability and multi‑cloud architecture.
• Lead the most complex, high‑impact engineering initiatives that span multiple teams.
• Make major architectural decisions with organization‑wide scope.
• Partner with Inference, Platform, Customer Success, Infrastructure, and Safeguards to align on security, privacy, and responsible deployment.
• Mentor and develop Staff‑level engineers across the organization.
• Ensure alignment between Product, GTM, Customer Success and proactively manage systemic technical risks.

Required profile

• 10+ years of engineering experience, having operated at Staff or Senior Staff level.
• Proven track record shaping technical strategy for large‑scale Cloud Service Provider or Enterprise SaaS products.
• Ability to influence without formal authority, earning trust across technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong domain expertise in enterprise security, identity, compliance, governance, permissions, and connectivity.
