Staff+ Software Engineer, Developer Experience

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Staff+ Software Engineer to shape the Developer Experience (DevX) of the Claude Platform. You will own the core developer‑facing surfaces – the Console, documentation platform, SDKs, and CLI – ensuring they are easy to adopt, reliable, and ready for new AI capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Drive technical direction for the Console and docs platform, collaborating with product and design from concept to launch.
• Define platform patterns and standards that internal teams use to ship features.
• Own the SDKs across multiple languages and the CLI, partnering with API teams to deliver new capabilities as idiomatic, ergonomic features.
• Lead code generation, testing, and release pipelines to keep SDKs consistent and shipping quickly.
• Mentor engineers and champion engineering best practices across the DevX team.

Required profile

• 8+ years of full‑stack engineering experience, including 2+ years at a Staff‑level or equivalent technical leadership role.
• Proven track record delivering complex, developer‑facing products from 0 to 1.
• Strong product focus with the ability to build robust, scalable, and user‑friendly solutions.
• Experience in fast‑moving, early‑stage environments and driving cross‑team alignment.
• Passion for mentoring peers and establishing engineering standards.
