Staff+ Software Engineer – Developer Acceleration

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Staff+ Software Engineer to join the Developer Acceleration team within the Developer Productivity organization. You will help shape the infrastructure that powers thousands of internal agents, directly influencing the speed and quality of AI research and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy for agentic productivity at scale.
• Own the roadmap for the Agent Runtime Platform and related tooling.
• Establish quality standards for agent‑driven engineering work across the company.
• Design, build, and ship runtime platform components and agent harnesses.
• Write evaluations to benchmark agent behavior and performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver impact.
• Ensure infrastructure scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

Required profile

• 10+ years building and operating large‑scale distributed systems.
• 3+ years leading complex projects or teams as an engineer or tech lead.
• Extensive experience with agents that perform technical or knowledge work.
• Passion for productivity and transforming how engineers work.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
