Staff Quality Engineer – Autonomous Systems

About the role

At Shield AI we are building advanced autonomous aircraft and need a Staff Quality Engineer to ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety. You will lead quality initiatives across the product lifecycle, from early design and new‑product introduction to full‑rate production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality systems aligned with AS9100 standards.
• Lead root‑cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to identify risks and improve process capability.
• Support new‑product introduction, establish control plans and inspection strategies.
• Use data‑driven methods to monitor and improve manufacturing performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Process Engineering.
• Proven experience leading RCA/CAPA and working with AS9100 or similar standards.
• Experience supporting NPI and scaling production in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and process control methods such as SPC and capability analysis.
