Staff PCB Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a self‑motivated Staff PCB Design Engineer to lead the development of high‑speed and mixed‑signal printed circuit boards for automotive ECUs. The role focuses on cutting‑edge systems such as ADAS, BMS, infotainment, and vehicle‑access, working within a joint venture between Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑speed, mixed‑signal PCB layouts that meet automotive standards, including HDI, DDR4, PCIe, CSI, LVDS, and high‑voltage requirements.
• Own PCB designs for ADAS, BMS, body, and infotainment systems, addressing space constraints while balancing performance trade‑offs.
• Maintain and expand the component library, ensuring data integrity and up‑to‑date part information.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers to define design rules, incorporate DFM feedback, and guarantee manufacturability.
• Configure ECAD tools and contribute to process and workflow improvements across engineering and design teams.
• Analyze technical issues holistically, providing data‑driven decisions that impact program and customer outcomes.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in PCB layout design, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven track record delivering full life‑cycle PCB projects from layout through manufacturing.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑speed development environments.
• Ability to define and improve PCB design processes.
