Staff Nurse

About the role

Under supervision, the Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit at South Brooklyn Health. The role focuses on diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients through case‑finding, health teaching, and counseling to promote well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess physical and psycho‑social signs and symptoms of patients.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate individualized nursing regimens.
• Maintain accurate nursing care plans, progress notes, and documentation.
• Communicate patient responses to the interdisciplinary health team.
• Collaborate with team members to design comprehensive patient care programs.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to allied nursing personnel and provide guidance.
• Participate in departmental conferences, policy development, and quality‑improvement activities.
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education.

Required profile

• Valid New York State nursing license and current registration.
• Ability to work under supervision while delivering safe, patient‑centered care.
• Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
