Staff Manufacturing Engineer, Production Systems

About the role

Collaborative Robotics is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to design and launch an in‑house production system for next‑generation physical AI robots. You will own the end‑to‑end build sequence, from a blank‑sheet design to stable, repeatable operation, working closely with hardware engineers and build technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the complete build sequence and work instructions for a new production line.
• Define the fixture design philosophy and create or source appropriate tools.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the build floor and hardware design, flagging hard‑to‑build decisions and driving alternatives.
• Conduct process FMEA on new and changed steps to anticipate failure modes.
• Build a root‑cause and defect‑closure system, instrumenting issue discovery and resolution.
• Define metrics infrastructure, run time studies, identify bottlenecks, and capture cycle time, first‑pass yield, and scrap data.

Required profile

• 9+ years in manufacturing/process/production engineering for electromechanical hardware.
• Direct experience standing up a new production line or NPI process, preferably low‑to‑mid volume.
• Demonstrated judgment in fixture/jig design, knowing when to design versus buy.
• Fluency with DFM/DFA principles and influencing engineering decisions.
• Strong data‑analysis and metrics experience for production lines.
• US work authorization and willingness to travel occasionally.
