Staff Machine Learning Engineer, AI

About the role

Sentry is building an AI‑native future for its application monitoring platform. As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer on the AI/ML team, you will design and implement the models and agents that make the product smarter, from issue triage to predictive performance analytics. Your work will enable thousands of organizations to gain actionable insights and improve their software development cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Build state‑of‑the‑art agentic AI systems to triage, debug, and solve real production issues.
• Leverage Sentry’s massive dataset of errors, spans, and profiles to improve model performance.
• Own the development of major initiatives in the AI/ML space.

Required profile

• Minimum 4+ years of professional experience with an MS/PhD in computer science, machine learning, or a related field, or 6+ years with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated expertise building production‑grade agentic systems and tools.
• Comfortable writing production‑quality code in Python.
• Expertise with deep learning frameworks, specifically PyTorch.
• Familiarity deploying machine‑learning models at scale in production environments.
• Experience writing technical documentation, mentoring, and presenting to technical audiences.
• Proven track record of owning a system, feature, or component and collaborating with multiple engineers and teams.

What we offer

• Base salary range $240,000 to $400,000.
