Staff Engineer – Manufacturing Equipment

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to lead development, sustainment, and improvement of production equipment, test racks, and test cells that support manufacturing and system‑level testing. This hands‑on role works closely with Manufacturing, Test, Quality and Design Engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability, scalability and production readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical lifecycle of production equipment, test racks and test cells from readiness through sustainment and continuous improvement.
• Lead troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for equipment failures and test anomalies.
• Drive reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) improvements to meet production goals.
• Develop and maintain equipment documentation such as schematics, BOMs, calibration plans and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure equipment meets safety, compliance and production requirements.
• Manage equipment upgrades, obsolescence, capacity expansion and vendor relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related field.
• 8+ years experience supporting production equipment, test racks or test cells in a manufacturing or test environment.
• Strong hands‑on experience with electromechanical systems, controls, instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex hardware, software and control issues.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation for production equipment.
