Staff Electrical Engineer – Autonomous Aircraft

About the role

Shield AI is looking for a highly motivated engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and fielding of a next‑generation autonomous aircraft system. The role blends technical rigor with rapid decision‑making to turn concepts into operational capability for operators worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Drive architecture, sub‑system, and circuit design for aircraft and support equipment, including custom circuitry such as FPGAs, power management, analog/digital blocks, servos, microcontrollers, sensors, and radios.
• Support integration of complex embedded systems and sensors that enable autonomy and AI.
• Own part selection, schematic capture, simulation, analysis, verification, debugging, and release to production.
• Coordinate with mechanical, embedded, software, manufacturing, and supply‑chain teams; manage project timelines and deliverables.
• Lead design reviews, mentor teammates, and develop automated test solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of industry experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• Proven track record of leading multiple product design cycles across EE, ME, and SW disciplines.
• Demonstrated extreme ownership and ability to ship high‑quality products in fast‑paced environments.
