Staff Design Engineer

About the role

sfcompute is building a liquid market for GPU offtake and needs a senior engineer to craft high‑fidelity, polished user interfaces. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to turn complex concepts into delightful, performant experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑quality, high‑fidelity UI components for the core product.
• Raise the overall standard of frontend craftsmanship, including interaction design, motion, visual detail, and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate rough ideas into shippable features.
• Make architectural decisions that ensure frontend systems scale with product growth.
• Mentor other engineers on design sensibility and frontend best practices.
• Gradually assume broader product ownership, understanding customer needs and business context.

Required profile

• Strong design instincts combined with a passion for building code.
• Clear opinions about product quality and the ability to articulate concrete improvements.
• Proven experience shipping complex frontend components, whether due to performance, real‑time data, animation, or simplifying difficult interactions.
• Self‑directed mindset capable of making trade‑offs without heavy supervision.
