Sr. Embedded Software Engineer, Robotics Platform

About the role

At Serve Robotics we are reimagining urban mobility with a personable sidewalk robot that delivers goods while reducing street congestion. The team is expanding its fleet across major U.S. cities and needs senior engineers to turn the robotics platform from a novelty into a reliable, ubiquitous service.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robotics middleware and application frameworks using modern C++ on embedded Linux.
• Own platform components from technical design through validation, deployment, and operation across the robot fleet.
• Partner with software teams to identify reliability and performance issues and deliver reusable solutions.
• Collaborate with Autonomy and Systems Engineering on risk assessments, failure analysis, and fault‑handling strategies.
• Translate system‑level safety and reliability requirements into software behavior and verification strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with production C++ (C++17 or newer).
• Extensive experience developing and debugging systems software in embedded Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of multithreaded programming, concurrency, synchronization, and interprocess communication.
• Proven ability to own complex software components through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
