Software Security Engineering Manager, Secure Frameworks

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Security Engineering Manager to lead its Secure Frameworks Research team. You will shape the security foundations that protect model development, data, and infrastructure, enabling engineers to build safely without deep security expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver cryptographic, serialization, and authorization frameworks that secure model weights, customer data, and training datasets.
• Own the end‑to‑end user experience, monitoring, and support for the frameworks you create.
• Provide design‑pattern guidance so other teams can extend security solutions independently.
• Collaborate with product, research, infrastructure, and other security groups to ensure seamless integration with lower‑layer controls.
• Prioritize roadmap items based on security risk and define adoption metrics.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a high‑performing engineering team.

Required profile

• 3+ years managing security engineering teams with proven productivity.
• 5+ years hands‑on security and software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in threat modeling, risk assessment, and securing complex architectures.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration and clear communication skills.
• Passion for building diverse, high‑performing teams and low ego, high empathy.
• Experience working with internal technical customers and familiarity with AI safety concepts.
