Software Engineering Internship – 8 months, 40 hrs/week

About the role

This 8‑month software engineering internship is based at Bosch’s North America headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan. You will join the Calibration Engineering group of Power Solutions and work alongside a small, highly motivated team on a cutting‑edge software platform that spans embedded devices to cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, deploy and operate new software features.
• Work across the full stack, from embedded operating systems to cloud infrastructure.
• Develop in multiple languages such as Go, Rust, Typescript and Python.
• Contribute to projects like automated provisioning of embedded platforms, serverless API generation, device simulation frameworks, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop test benches.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Engineering with at least one semester completed.
• Minimum 1 year of academic or industry experience with software languages and operating systems.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher, at least 18 years of age, and able to work 35‑40 hours per week.
• Valid US driver’s license.

Required skills

• Programming: Go, Rust, Typescript, Python.
• Operating systems: Linux, Embedded Linux (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi).
• Version control: Git.
• CI/CD pipelines and unit testing.
• Real‑time communication protocols such as MQTT.
• API development using gRPC or OpenAPI.
• Database experience (relational, time‑series, key‑value stores).
• Cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
