Software Engineer II Python

About the role

Onapsis is seeking a self‑motivated Software Engineer II with strong Python expertise to enhance its cybersecurity platform. You will collaborate with product, research and architecture teams to design, build and improve features for threat detection, vulnerability management and compliance automation.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, scope and implement new platform features in partnership with product management and research.
• Design and contribute to system architecture, ensuring reliability, scalability and security.
• Develop and maintain APIs using REST, GraphQL, Django or Flask.
• Write automated tests and support CI/CD pipelines following test‑driven development.
• Work with asynchronous task queues (Celery, AMQP, MQTT, Redis) and relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy).
• Collaborate with the Architecture team to advance technology stack and improve quality engineering processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production environments using observability tools.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 1+ year of hands‑on Python development.
• Experience contributing to system design or architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• API development with REST, GraphQL, Django or Flask.
• Linux development environment.
• Test‑driven development (TDD) and CI/CD tooling.
• Asynchronous processing (Celery, AMQP, MQTT, Redis).
• Relational databases and ORMs (PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy).
• Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud‑native application development.
