Software Engineer, Backend

About the role

Mirage is building an AI‑native video platform that lets users create and edit video through natural language. As a Backend Software Engineer you will work at the intersection of product, platform, and machine learning, turning ambitious ideas into reliable, scalable production systems that power the entire product suite.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and own end‑to‑end backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure that power Mirage’s products.
• Solve complex technical challenges in distributed systems, scaling, concurrency, and performance.
• Integrate and operate large generative AI models in production, handling deployment, serving, and scaling.
• Instrument, experiment, and iterate in production to continuously improve system and product quality.
• Design and operate core platform infrastructure, including third‑party integrations, storage, security, and internal APIs.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience building high‑impact backend systems.
• Proven track record of shipping production‑ready services and APIs.
• Strong problem‑solving fundamentals and ability to learn quickly.
• Practical engineering mindset with solid time‑management skills.
