About the role

The Board of Education is seeking a qualified Social Studies Teacher for City Honors School #195. The position serves grades 7‑12 within the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and focuses on fostering inquiry, rigor, and international‑mindedness.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver instructional activities that meet the learning needs of IB MYP students.
• Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and assessment tools aligned with IB standards.
• Supervise, assess, and document progress of IB MYP Personal Project and Extended Essay advisees.
• Participate in on‑site and off‑site IB training and collaborative meetings.
• Prepare classroom environments and provide diverse learning resources.

Required profile

• New York State or Buffalo certification in the appropriate tenure area.
• Ability to attach proof of certification (PDF or screenshot) with the application.
• Preference given to candidates residing in the City of Buffalo.
• Experience or training in the IB Middle Years Programme is desirable but not mandatory.
