Ski and Snowboard Patrol

About the role

Woodward Tahoe (Boreal and Soda Springs), a year-round action sports resort in the Sierra Nevada, is hiring Ski and Snowboard Patrollers for the upcoming winter season. This is a full-time or part-time seasonal position with employee housing available from $325 per month. The role covers guest safety, terrain management and emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Perform morning trail checks and open and close terrain
• Respond quickly to on-mountain incidents and injuries, provide first aid and coordinate guest transport
• Assist with toboggan handling and patient loading
• Support avalanche safety, terrain closures and hazard marking
• Educate guests on mountain safety and etiquette
• Maintain and restock medical supplies at patrol stations
• Serve as a first responder in emergencies, including lift evacuations

Required profile

• Strong skiing or snowboarding ability in all conditions (required)
• OEC, EMT or WEMT certification (required or in progress); active CPR certification
• Calm under pressure, strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dependable, punctual and safety-minded
• Comfortable skiing or riding in varied terrain, including off-piste; physically demanding work with lifting, hiking and toboggan operation
• Early morning starts, weekend and holiday shifts, and on-call or extended hours during bad weather or major incidents
• Experience in patrol, guiding, mountain rescue or similar is a plus
