Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of our user‑facing AI products and the platform that enables rapid development. You will work at Cognition’s San Francisco lab, ensuring services stay healthy, incidents are resolved quickly, and engineers can ship code confidently.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own SLOs, SLIs and error budgets for the Devin and Windsurf products.
• Build monitoring, alerting and observability systems that give a clear picture of service health.
• Lead incident response, run blameless post‑mortems and create runbooks and tooling for sustainable on‑call.
• Own CI/CD pipelines, release infrastructure and internal developer tooling to enable fast, safe deployments.
• Manage cloud infrastructure as code, ensuring reproducible, version‑controlled environments.
• Model growth, forecast capacity needs and improve system performance before users notice issues.
• Integrate security into reliability work, catching misconfigurations and vulnerabilities with the same urgency as outages.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to embed reliability into architecture reviews.

Required profile

• Deep experience running production systems at scale, including SLO/SLI management and on‑call responsibilities.
• Proven ability to lead incident response and drive continuous improvement through post‑mortems.
• Strong mindset of treating reliability as an engineered property, not an afterthought.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code environments.
