Service Technician – Palisade UTC

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician for its Palisade UTC community in San Diego. The role involves performing technical and mechanical work to keep the building, grounds, amenities and common areas clean, safe and fully functional. You will respond to resident requests, carry out preventive maintenance and prepare vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident‑initiated work orders and preventive maintenance tasks, diagnosing issues and repairing them according to company policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, repairs and final inspection.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document all service requests accurately and promptly for tracking and reporting purposes.
• Maintain grounds, common areas and amenities by trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning and painting of curbs and signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing components whenever possible.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of property maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with work order systems, preventive maintenance, and “make‑ready” procedures.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting and pressure‑washing techniques.
• Ability to follow safety standards and code requirements.
