Service Technician – Fieldstone Student Living

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician to support the Fieldstone student‑living community at UMass Amherst. The role focuses on maintaining the physical condition, safety, and functionality of apartments, common areas, and amenities.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service activities accurately and promptly for tracking and reporting.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever feasible.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to Greystar’s risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Ability to follow established maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation, and inventory management.
• Willingness to work on‑site in a student‑living environment and interact with residents and vendors.

Required skills

• Basic building maintenance and repair techniques.
• Use of pressure‑washing equipment.
• Painting and minor carpentry skills.
