Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

CodeRabbit is looking for a founding Platform Engineer who will own the compute, orchestration and infrastructure layer that powers its AI engine and product suite across a multi‑region GCP footprint. This 0‑to‑1 position will build the platform function from the ground up, set technical direction and establish the patterns that other teams will follow.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate large‑scale distributed infrastructure on GCP, including Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage and compute resources.
• Develop custom Kubernetes operators, CRDs, admission webhooks and automation tooling in Go or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Define and enforce infrastructure‑as‑code standards using advanced Terraform modules and manage state at scale.
• Establish observability, alerting and SLO frameworks with Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana and distributed tracing.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Platform, Infrastructure or Site Reliability Engineering with a strong bias toward building platforms.
• Deep, hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes control‑plane internals, operators, and scheduler tuning.
• Proven track record designing and running large‑scale distributed systems and handling consistency‑availability trade‑offs.
• Strong background in cloud compute on GCP (or AWS) beyond managed services.
