Senior Tax Analyst – Indirect Tax (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Analyst to join a high‑volume indirect tax environment in Charlotte, NC. This long‑term contract role focuses on corporate and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and the manual gathering of data required for large monthly filings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review a high volume of indirect tax returns each month, ensuring accuracy and meeting filing deadlines.
• Collect, organize, and validate tax‑related data from multiple sources to support timely return preparation.
• Manage corporate and indirect tax compliance activities in line with regulations and internal standards.
• Utilize Avalara for tax calculations, reporting processes, and compliance workflows.
• Investigate data discrepancies and resolve issues by coordinating with stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation for filings, reconciliations, and audit readiness.
• Monitor manual processes and identify efficiency improvements within the tax reporting cycle.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in corporate and indirect tax compliance.
• Proven ability to handle high‑volume tax filings in a deadline‑driven environment.
• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Clear communication skills and collaborative mindset.
