Senior Software Engineer, Billing Platform

About the role

Sentry is looking for a senior engineer to own and scale the core billing infrastructure that powers its usage‑based pricing. You will design and build a high‑throughput pipeline that processes hundreds of billions of events daily while guaranteeing financial‑grade accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and scale the billing platform, ensuring reliability and precision at massive scale.
• Develop the next‑generation usage tracking pipeline with low latency and strict consistency.
• Design flexible pricing primitives to support per‑event billing and complex enterprise contracts.
• Address data‑consistency challenges such as event delays, retroactive pricing changes, and distributed count reconciliation.

Required profile

• Passion for solving “easy to explain, hard to build” problems where billing accuracy is critical.
• Comfort working under constraints that demand elegant, financially accurate designs.
• Enjoy collaborating across product, finance, BizOps, sales, and leadership to impact ARR directly.
• Proven experience building systems with high‑stakes accuracy, mentoring engineers, and operating services where uptime and financial correctness matter.
