Senior Software Developer – Advanced Applications

About the role

Join AVEVA’s Advanced Applications team in Lake Forest, California, as a Senior Software Developer. You will help design and implement Manufacturing Execution System (MES) architecture, leveraging AI‑assisted tools to accelerate delivery and improve legacy system understanding.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, adopt, and apply generative and AI‑assisted engineering tools to enhance MES development, testing, and delivery efficiency.
• Make technical decisions on scaling, reliability, performance, and maintenance that impact the team.
• Design, develop, test, and debug software applications, delivering on schedule and providing accurate estimates.
• Collaborate with technical writers to document product behavior and implementation details.
• Participate in design docs, tech talks, and prioritize development efforts with the Product Owner.

Required profile

• Formal training with a degree in Computer Programming, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in software development roles.
• Strong knowledge of C#; familiarity with JavaScript and CSS is a plus.
• Experience with Agile development practices.
• Proficiency with SQL Server, databases, and T‑SQL.
