Senior Product Manager – Microbial Sequencing

About the role

Plasmidsaurus is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead its microbial sequencing portfolio. The role will shape strategy, drive product development, and expand market presence for bacterial, yeast, metagenomics and microbiome services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the microbial portfolio strategy, identifying differentiation and long‑term growth opportunities.
• Prioritize product investments based on customer value, scientific opportunity, technical feasibility and business impact.
• Lead customer discovery, market research, competitive analysis and business case development for new offerings.
• Own the product roadmap from concept through launch and ongoing lifecycle management.
• Partner with R&D, Engineering, Commercial and Lab teams to translate customer needs into scalable sequencing products.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Sales on product positioning, launch plans and commercial strategy.
• Monitor portfolio performance, drive adoption, improve customer satisfaction and revenue.
• Use customer feedback and business metrics to refine priorities and inform future investments.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of microbial research customers, their workflows and challenges.
• Proven experience defining product strategy and managing roadmaps in a biotech or genomics context.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify market gaps and translate insights into revenue‑driving products.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, working closely with R&D, Engineering, Commercial, Marketing and Sales.
• Data‑driven decision making and ability to prioritize based on business impact.
