Senior Finance Analyst – Operations

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to support its primary manufacturing and engineering plant in Billerica, MA. The role partners with operations teams to provide financial insight and drive cost‑effective decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with operations business partners (manufacturing, materials, logistics, supply chain).
• Manage Period, Burden & Variance (PBV) spending and ensure accurate factory spending and labor data for planning, analysis, close, and reporting.
• Partner with operations stakeholders to align build plans, receipts, and PPV assumptions.
• Maintain accurate COGS and inventory accounting, including balance‑sheet review, reserves, GL reconciliation, and reporting.
• Support the factory accounting model with comprehensive cost analysis and activity‑rate recommendations.
• Assist with SOX/compliance processes and lead or support ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Cost/Managerial Accounting, or a related field.
• 4‑7 years of experience in finance, preferably within large international manufacturing or engineering organizations.
• Proven analytical skills and business‑partnering experience.
• Experience with enterprise‑level financial systems, preferably SAP/BPC.
