Senior Engineering Manager - Hydrology & Drainage

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its hydrology and drainage practice for transportation infrastructure projects across the Pacific Northwest and national projects. The role involves overseeing drainage design for road, highway, rail, and transit projects, acting as the primary interface with internal teams, clients, and joint‑venture partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drainage design on small to large transportation projects, including hydrologic analysis, inlet and storm‑sewer design, and retention/detention basin design.
• Prepare and review storm‑water plans, permit applications, drainage criteria documentation, and design reports.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations, providing professional engineer seal when required.
• Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements, and mentor junior drainage engineers.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 15‑20+ years of water resources engineering experience, primarily in transportation drainage.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
• Extensive experience with WSDOT design‑build projects.
