Senior Engineering Manager – Guardian Platform

About the role

As a Senior Engineering Manager for the Guardian platform at semgrep, you will lead the team that makes security a native property of software at the moment it’s written. You’ll own the integration, orchestration, and distribution layers that turn detection engines into low‑latency risk verdicts for agents, IDEs, and developers.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product and design to create a roadmap that balances iterative improvements with bold bets.
• Prioritize and direct the team’s schedule, balancing new technology development, internal/external consumer needs, and technical quality.
• Retain and strengthen engineers through coaching, mentorship, regular feedback, and performance management.
• Build a trust‑based environment that rewards creativity, risk‑taking, and personal responsibility.
• Grow the team by hiring diverse, high‑performing technical talent.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong foundation in product development and delivering products to production with multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with agile development principles and iterative milestone creation.
• Passion for coaching and mentoring engineers and other leaders.
• Experience building durable platforms, APIs, SDKs, developer tooling, IDE extensions, or security products.

What we offer

• Estimated base salary range $230,000 – $288,000 USD per year.
