Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior Electrical & Instrumentation Reliability Engineer to lead site reliability for electrical power distribution, instrumentation, control and safety‑related assets at our Agricultural Solutions plant in Hannibal, MO. The role involves implementing reliability programs, supporting capital projects and driving continuous improvement using proven reliability tools.

Key responsibilities

• Lead reliability activities for electrical power systems, control systems and critical instrumentation, ensuring compliance with BASF Responsible Care, ISA standards and statutory regulations.
• Apply reliability tools such as FMEA, RCFA, RBI, RCM, criticality analysis and the Bad Actor Program to improve asset effectiveness and reduce costs.
• Maintain site reliability programs for safety‑instrumented systems, generators, transformers, MCCs, heat tracing and utility power.
• Monitor KPIs and inspection findings to proactively identify and resolve reliability issues.
• Provide E&I expertise for capital projects, including specification, design, commissioning and startup.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering (or related) with 6+ years of manufacturing/engineering experience, or a Master’s degree with 4+ years.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in an industrial environment.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain reliability metrics and use digital tools such as Power BI.
