Senior Design Engineer

About the role

Petra Security is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to shape the user experience of its AI‑driven detection and response platform. You will work closely with founders and product teams to turn rough concepts into polished, production‑ready interfaces that protect millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer problems, Figma explorations or intuition into shipped product features.
• Elevate end‑to‑end product quality, covering visual design, interaction, accessibility, responsiveness and performance.
• Prototype complex flows in code when static designs are insufficient, especially for motion, keyboard behavior and AI‑driven interactions.
• Engage directly with MSPs and security teams to map workflows, identify pain points and create intuitive UX solutions.
• Build reusable design systems, tokens and component APIs that scale as the product grows.

Required profile

• 4+ years of design engineering experience delivering production‑grade UX, preferably before the rise of large language models.
• Strong eye for detail and ability to spot and fix subtle design issues.
• Deep empathy for users and a track record of solving real problems, not just building tech for its own sake.
