Senior Architect/Designer

About the role

OMA New York seeks a Senior Architect/Designer to lead and contribute to projects from concept through construction. The role demands strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design direction and coordinate technical documentation for projects across all phases.
• Collaborate with consultants, local architects, Associates and Partners to produce comprehensive design packages.
• Lead and mentor project teams, ensuring high‑quality delivery and client satisfaction.
• Oversee project realization, including construction documentation and on‑site coordination.
• Potentially head specific project workstreams based on experience and project needs.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience covering design and execution phases.
• Professional or graduate degree in Architecture.
• Professional proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino and Adobe Suite.
• Knowledge of US building codes and standards.
• Strong portfolio of realized or published projects.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an international, dynamic environment.
