Senior Architect with Interior Experience

About the role

OMA New York is seeking a Senior Architect with strong interior experience to lead design, detailing, and FFE specification across a variety of public, commercial, hospitality, and residential projects. The role spans the full project lifecycle, from concept through construction, and requires a high level of design sensibility and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and strategies in collaboration with partners and clients.
• Lead projects through programming, concept development, documentation, and construction phases.
• Create 3‑D models, visualizations, and detailed drawing sets for presentation and bidding.
• Specify fixtures, fittings, furniture, lighting, finishes, and equipment, and curate sample presentations for clients.
• Prepare material palettes, finish narratives, and research documentation for internal and client use.
• Coordinate technical documentation and oversee project realization, potentially leading specialist teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years post‑graduate experience in architecture with a focus on interior design.
• Proven track record at an internationally recognized architecture firm on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong conceptual thinking, design research ability, and clear communication of design intent.
• Experience managing budgets, material selections, and client engagement at a global level.
