Senior Ansible Engineer

About the role

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons company, seeks a Senior Ansible Engineer to design and deliver a complex automation framework that deploys production environments onto physical hardware. The role blends hardware and software integration, cybersecurity, and systems engineering to support defensive cyber operations for warfighters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of advanced Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules for Defensive Cyber Operations kits.
• Automate configuration of physical hardware and network appliances such as routers and firewalls.
• Integrate security controls, including STIG hardening and SELinux, into the automation pipeline.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for extensive automated testing.
• Collaborate with software teams to create highly parameterized Ansible that aligns with the product stack.
• Partner with internal teams to deliver technical demonstrations and define functional requirements.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with at least 8 years of automation and systems engineering experience.
• Expert proficiency in Ansible, including playbooks, roles, Jinja2 templating, Collections, Ansible Galaxy, and Ansible Vault.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Fedora‑based Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, Oracle) and system administration.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for custom modules and advanced automation.
• Experience with virtualization and container platforms (VMware, Kubernetes, Docker/Podman).
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts, infrastructure hardening, and compliance frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
