Senior AI Frontend Engineer

About the role

Sauna.ai is looking for a Senior AI Frontend Engineer to own and evolve the user‑facing experience of its AI‑augmented productivity platform. This full‑time, on‑site position in San Francisco’s Presidio office requires you to deliver fast, intuitive, and polished interfaces that mask complex backend logic.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship high‑performance web interfaces using TypeScript and React.
• Prototype and iterate on UI/UX concepts without waiting for complete specifications.
• Implement state‑management solutions with Tanstack, Zustand, and React hooks.
• Integrate client‑side storage (IndexedDB) and Cloudflare Workers for edge functionality.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to deliver end‑to‑end features, including DB migrations and API routes.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional frontend engineering experience with a portfolio of complex web applications.
• Deep understanding of React lifecycle, memoization, and reusable component design.
• Proven ability to make product and design decisions autonomously.
• Strong performance mindset: caching, optimistic UI updates, and minimizing redundant network calls.
• High autonomy, low ego, and a passion for craftsmanship.
