Security Software Engineer

About the role

Security Engineering at Sierra builds the foundations that let powerful AI agents serve customers while protecting data and trust. As a Security Software Engineer you will partner across product and platform teams to embed security, privacy, and safety as core capabilities of the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Build the Foundations of Trust by designing and shipping systems that make the platform secure by default, covering agent safety, privacy, identity, authentication, authorization, and data security.
• Own Cross‑Cutting Systems such as identity management, access control, auditability, and data lifecycle management, balancing usability, performance, and security.
• Secure Agentic AI Systems by implementing controls that prevent data leakage, unauthorized actions, and manipulation of AI agents, including runtime policy enforcement and sandboxing.
• Automate and scale security‑adjacent workflows with developer‑friendly tooling, CI/CD security checks, schema validation, and runtime monitoring for sensitive events.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering skills with experience building and maintaining production systems.
• Security mindset: ability to think like an attacker, consider data flows, and design for least‑privilege.
• Product and platform mindset: focus on secure, scalable systems that enable innovation.
• Curiosity and ownership: take ambiguous, cross‑cutting problems from first principles to production and own them.
