About the role

We are expanding our science team to work at the intersection of drug discovery and AI research. As a Scientist in Protein Design you will advise leading drug programs, become an expert on partner therapeutic challenges, and act as a power user of our platform to maximize its impact.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as an advisor to major drug discovery programs, translating complex scientific problems into actionable projects.
• Operate as a power user of Chai’s platform, ensuring partners deploy the technology effectively.
• Scope, drive, and lead collaborative projects with research and engineering teams to tackle novel challenges.
• Provide insights that shape future product development, model improvements, and overall strategy.

Required profile

• Ravenous curiosity, outlier aptitude, and strong collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with urgency and communicate effectively under pressure.
• Experience in academic research or drug discovery, particularly in antibody engineering, protein design, or computational methods.
• Low‑ego, high‑EQ mindset with proven performance in high‑pressure environments.
