Safety Hazmat Technician – Full-Time

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Safety Hazmat Technician to join its Fontana, CA Service Center. The role involves emergency response, hazardous-material clean-up, site remediation and equipment decontamination, working Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5:30 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to hazardous-material incidents, perform clean-up and decontamination according to R+L procedures.
• Audit incoming and outgoing hazardous-material shipments for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain daily job notes, update safety documentation, and report issues promptly to management.
• Set up and participate in live training events to ensure personnel competency.

Required profile

• Physically fit and able to lift up to 75 lb in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to coach co‑workers on unsafe behaviors and participate in scheduled projects.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining detail‑orientation and confidentiality.

Required skills

• 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience operating tools used in emergency‑response activities.
