RN – TOSH Pre‑op/PACU

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the TOSH Pre‑op/PACU team. This full‑time, day‑shift position provides direct nursing care to patients before surgery and during recovery in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
• Monitor patients in the PACU, manage pain, and ensure safe recovery.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and other treatments as ordered.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary staff to deliver high‑quality care.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Availability to work day‑shift hours.
• Experience in pre‑operative or PACU settings preferred.

Required skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring.
• Medication administration and IV therapy.
• Knowledge of peri‑operative procedures and safety protocols.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
