RN PRN - One Day Surgery

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN PRN) to support its One Day Surgery unit. This fixed‑term, temporary position offers flexible shift work within a fast‑paced surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑operative assessments and obtain accurate patient histories.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, ensuring sterile technique.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes promptly.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and post‑operative care according to protocols.
• Coordinate patient discharge, providing education and follow‑up instructions.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse license in Arkansas.
• Eligibility to work in the United States on day one of employment.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Experience in surgical or peri‑operative nursing preferred.
