RN – Endoscopy Lab – Kings Hwy – PRN

About the role

This PRN position leads patient care in the Endoscopy Lab on Kings Highway, applying the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards, and Ochsner’s philosophy. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, ensures high‑quality outcomes, and respects cultural diversity.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care in the endoscopy setting.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and staff.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Analyze data and promote changes to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
• Promote patient satisfaction and staff morale through professional behavior and continuous improvement.
• Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy, cultural preferences, and procedural requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure compliance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous materials.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certification in a clinical specialty area preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills.
