Risk Model Validation Associate – Auto Finance

About the role
The Risk Model Validation Associate will independently validate auto‑finance models in line with SR 11‑7, US supervisory guidance and internal standards. You will ensure model robustness, support remediation, and contribute to ongoing model health within a technology‑driven financial services environment.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate model assumptions, limitations and weaknesses, documenting results with clear recommendations.
- Conduct robust validations of a wide variety of models, including benchmark, challenger and replication models where applicable.
- Partner with model owners and developers to understand business context, provide technical guidance and strengthen development and validation processes.
- Manage remediation of validation findings to achieve timely and effective resolution.
- Monitor ongoing model performance, assess overall model health and support annual reviews and governance activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or a related field (required); Master’s or PhD preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in model development and/or validation (required); experience with scorecard or loss‑provisioning models preferred.
- Advanced quantitative skills and practical modeling experience.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
- Effective project‑management capabilities.
